Bogi's Neclace
My dear friend, Bogi has asked me to make a gothic neclace. And this is the result. I love to make it. The base of this pattern the russain Mylène Farmer, but I've made it with Swarovski caboshon. I've also made a pair of earrings, which mach to the necklace.
It's perfect for Bogi, and I'm happy that, she loves it so much! Mission completed!

Mycenae
Music: Vangelis El Greco Movement 1
There was a civilization, it called mycenaean. About 1600 BC to about 1100 BC Mycenae was the major center of the Greek civilization. They build their little empire on another civilization's ruin. Historians think, that they received many things from the Cretan Civilization. We know their script, but there isn't any historical or religious record, only economic notes. The most of our knowlege of this society is from the Egyptians and Hettites, who had trade relations with the Mycenaeans.
But this misterious civilization was the nation, who build the firs acropolis. A legend says that Mycenae was founded by Perseus, and build by cylopes, because the blocks of stone used were so massive and huge
The Mycenaean Acropolis
But something happened in 12th century BC. At this time all the southern Greek palaces were burned. Maybe that was a Dorian invasion from north, or, as mentioned by Egyptian hieroglyphs, is related to the attacks of the mysterious Sea Peoples who destroyed the Hittite Empire and then attacked Egypt. What ever happened the Mycenaean civilization lost its power, its advanced crafts disappeared. Only the ruins remind us, that 4000 years ago there was a beutiful and misterious civilization.
With this jewelry, the Mycenae Earring I'm starting a new collection "There was a civilization". Every earring, what I'll make inspirated by a long lost civilization.
I hope that you'll enjoy our journey across the centuries!
Love,
Amariah
